So our 8th Annual Saint Patty's Day Block Party was a complete success and we want to thank all of our awesome friends for making it such a hit. We're still recovering and will have plenty of pics up soon.

In the meantime, however, we want to take a special moment to congratulate pub regular Mitch for his engagement to his brand-new fiancée Anna. Mitch has been a friend of the pub ever since we opened and decided to use the occasion to pop the question.

A classical guitarist by profession, Mitch sat down and wrote his own rock song summarizing his romantic relationship with Anna, and arranged to have it performed onstage during our St Patty's Day festivities. The man's got cajones, that's for sure.

We're proud to share the moment with you here and wish nothing but the best to the happy couple. And of course, we'd also like to use this as a reminder that Finn's is clearly the place to be each and every Saint Patty's Day, where the luck of the Irish is real.

Birthday Flashback: St. Patty's Day 2005

As you're all aware, Saint Patrick's Day is soon approaching and I know everyone will be joining us for our annual block party. Every year we feature live music with outdoor service, as well as the holiday staple green beer served indoors.

But our parties haven't always been this big. Back in 2005 when we first opened and we were still just a tiny corner watering hole, our first Saint Patrick's Day celebration was a relatively modest affair. Don't get me wrong, we still had a blowout night and made a lot of new friends. But our parties have since grown into the Fort Worth's only place to be on March 17th.

See some pics of our first Irish celebration day on our Gallery Page. And swing by this Saint Patrick's Day to see how we've grown for yourself. I promise you'll have a great time!

Below are some very early pics taken just prior to our original opening date. We'll post more as we near the anniversary of our Grand Opening, February 17th, and more still as we get closer to Saint Patty's Day.

Early 2005. This would have been shortly before we first opened. Pictured here are Robert, Jarrod and good family friend David. Robert and David built the bar by hand. Jarrod probably watched.

Photographic evidence of Robert putting he finishing touches on the bar.

Late 2004. The installation of our brand-new neon sign, designed by Jarrod. Note the other next door businesses. Man, how times have changed.

More old pics to come. To see how things have changed in 7 years, swing by for a drink and see for yourself.

February 7, 2005 was the day we first opened for business, which means tomorrow is our 7 year anniversary. And man, what a 7 years it's been!

We first found our little slice of Southside back in early 2004 and spent almost a year designing the tone, demolishing the old space and building a new neighborhood bar where people could come by and just sit and have a nice conversation.

And 7 years later, we're still that place. Plus some new game space and a new kitchen.

Our Grand Opening was February 17, 2005, so over the next several days we're going to be showing some highlights over the past 7 years as we count down to the 17th. And if that isn't enough nostalgia, March 17th is of course Saint Patty's Day, and you should know by now we're one of the few bars in town that offer a day-long block party with live music at NO COVER.

So stay tuned and keep checking back in with us. There's a lot of history to cover in the next few days and a lot more to come in the future.

Thanks to all our awesome customers and staff for making Finn MacCool's Pub Fort Worth's best neighborhood pub, 7 years running.
