Finn MacCool's Pub 1700 Eigth Avenue, Fort Worth, TX 76110 817-923-2121

More Finn!

Since opening in 2005, Finn MacCool’s Pub has become the epitome of the classic neighborhood watering hole in Fort Worth. Inspired by the charming local pubs of Chicago, Boston and Philadelphia, a family of Fort Worth natives fashioned a historic but world-weary 1929 space on the corner of Eighth Avenue and Allen Street into a living embodiment of the old-world public house traditions.

Named for the legendary giant of Irish myth, the pub’s focus has always been on providing a low-key, inviting space where friends can hang out and chat over quickly-served and well-made drinks, co-workers can unwind after a lengthy day at work, and where a whole neighborhood can come together for a fun night out.

Having been at the forefront of the current Near Southside / Magnolia renaissance, MacCool’s has continuously helped raise the neighborhood profile and contributed to the area’s newfound status as a local destination. The bar has won numerous awards for its historic preservation and drink-mixing prowess. The Annual Saint Patrick’s Day block party has grown into a landmark event and draws increasingly huge crowds every year.

And six years into a successful run the pub still continues to grow. In 2010 MacCool’s unveiled a new expansion space featuring dart boards, billiard tables, a new PGA arcade, table-top video games and an internet jukebox. In 2011 a new kitchen opened, allowing patrons to order sandwiches and snacks directly from the bar. And following a thorough remodeling, a full-service non-smoking bar was opened to accommodate all our neighborhood friends.

Finally, Finn MacCool’s Pub has two secret ingredients that make up the most important part of this story: First, an amazing bar staff that honors the pub tradition and makes its old-world ancestry proud. The second is a collection of customers and regular patrons that are among the finest drinking friends in the world.
